Music Programs at PVUMC

Community Concert Series

Every year, PVUMC offers a Community Concert series specifically designed for all ages. Past performances have included the Sahnas Brothers, held in our open-air amphitheater in early October; choral groups; the Tetra String Quartet; Traveler, a multi-ethnic fusion ensemble; Run Boy Run, an award-winning bluegrass group; musical theater night, and seasonal concerts by our own choirs at Christmas and just prior to Holy Week.

There is no fee for the events, though a free-will offering will be taken at the event in support of the series.

Music Programs for Adults

Bells of Paradise

Bells of Paradise is a handbell choir that provides music for our worship services, community events, and outreach opportunities.  While previous handbell experience is not required, members do need to be able to read music.  The bells enhance worship once a month and for special liturgical events/services such as Christmas, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. The Bells of Paradise rehearse every Wednesday from 6-7:20 pm.

Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir is the largest music ensemble at PVUMC. The choir leads worship most Sundays at the 9:00 service. The Chancel Choir is a group of highly dedicated singers who seek to serve God with their inspired, spirit-filled singing. The Chancel Choir also performs a larger choral work each spring and is the featured choir at the annual Christmas Concert.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9 pm.

Paradise Singers

Paradise Singers is a smaller select group of female singers. The group sings a wide range of choral literature for SSA and SSAA voicing.  Paradise Singers lead worship many times throughout the year as well as at special services such as Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. The Paradise Singers rehearse on Wednesdays from 11 am-12 noon.
