Welcome To Our Kids Ministry

Our Kids Ministry believes that God is Love - All the Time, and Sunday mornings are just the beginning! We offer digital content, service opportunities, music, drama, and camps throughout the year to help make faith-building integral to your family life.

Our Kids Ministry program on Sunday mornings takes a story-based approach to introducing the essential concepts of spirituality to 2 year olds through 5th graders, allowing them the opportunity to build relationships with Jesus and God, while finding support among personal relationships with each other. We’ve designed our kids environments with your child in mind - safe, fun, and filled with age-appropriate and neurodiverse learning tools.

We believe that every child is valuable to God and our church. If your child could use an older buddy during Sunday School, or you have any questions about our program, contact: Kristin@pvumc.org.

Children of any age are always welcome to experience worship with their families, and Praise Packs are available for kids 3 and older.

PVUMC Kids are faithful, valuable, compassionate, and giving.
Our Values

How We Do This

In our Kids Ministry, children will learn about God and Jesus through common biblical stories, song and play. As we talk through stories, children will learn the narrative and engage with the characters and story lines. This helps them to understand basic concepts important to a firm faith foundation.

Childcare (6 weeks – 2 years) and Sunday School (2 years – 5th grade) happens on Sunday Morning at 9:00 AM. Kids begin worship with their families, and are dismissed after the Children’s Moment.

Your First Visit

Stop by our Family Ministry Check-In stations outside the Sanctuary or Chapel. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a friendly face, and a blue tablecloth. Let them know this is your first visit, so we can gather your information, give you a campus map, explain a little bit about what to expect, and answer any questions.

Our hope is to create an environment that kids want to return to again and again. We often hear that the children have fun while at PVUMC, and families feel supported in their religious journey. Kids are always welcome as visitors! Our staff and volunteers will guide you through your first visit to our church and help you navigate the children’s areas and programs.

Other Things to Know

The Drive Home

A child’s spiritual experience depends on more than the hours he or she spends at church. Parents and other role models in a kid’s life play a vital role in helping each individual to develop and strengthen his or her faith.

As a church, we want to provide solid guidance to parents to make this happen. Here are some suggested talking points and other ways to engage your children on the drive home Sunday morning, or any time.

  • Christian Radio gets everyone onto the same favorite songs & singing God’s praises.
  • Ask what everyone’s favorite part of church was.
  • Pray together as you drive. Pray for ambulances that go by, the firetruck, an accident, for your school as you arrive, or for whatever grabs your attention out your window.
